Unsolicited advice! Be careful who you listen to

When we share our ideas or plans with other people, they usually start telling you how they would do things, or speak with great knowledge about what not to do.

This is said from a place of love and wanting to help you, but it can often be unhelpful and even derail your grand plans if you take the advice to heart. When we give other people advice, we are typically telling them what WE would like to hear, or to have know if we were in the same situation.

But that doesn’t mean it applies to you, in your specific situation. Take advice with a healthy pinch of salt, and make up your own mind about the best way forward!
