Hi, I’m Gemma. I’m a Certified Coach that helps you tap into your unique strengths and magic as you chase your dreams and smash your goals.
I’m here to challenge and support you on your journey to a more joyous, fulfilled life
Hi folks, that’s me in the picture trying to look cool.
I have worn many different hats in my career and all that experience is present in every one of our sessions together.
(Failed) Small business owner
I spent a long time working in Hospitality. I ran my own food business, with moderate success and actually learned the most valuable lessons when it ultimately failed.
There were some tough lessons I had to deal with and they made me face some things that, at the time, I would rather I didn’t have to. But now I am very grateful for the personal growth and change in direction I got from them.
Dealing with the shame from having a failed business taught me a lot about my value and worth. Feeling like I’d let others down meant I had to reassess my commitments to others and be clear about what I could do alone, and what was collective responsibility.
Seeing how others reacted to the news also taught me a lot about the value of true friendship and knowing when to walk away from people.
Chasing my own dreams
As a coach, I am a solopreneur and I’m also chasing after my dreams, just like you. My dream as about supporting people like you as you connect to your inner dreams and decide that you want to take charge of this life and be proud of yourself. My dream is that I create a lifestyle that supports me, allows me to grow and challenges me to keep pushing myself and be inspired every day.
There are challenges I face and new skills I need to learn along the way. There is a vast difference between how I started my food business, and how I approach my coaching practice.
I’ve learned it’s important to break activities down into manageable chunks, to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Now I know when to tackle something head on, and when to reach out for support. I can lean into my strengths, stretch those that are not quite as developed, and enlist others when I hit a wall (I’ll never fathom graphic design, so I get the experts for that).
Body image
I’ve also had my share of body image issues too. I’ve never had any extreme food issues, but there have definitely been times that I’ve been way too heavy and realised I need to take action before it gets out of hand. From keto to low FODMAP, fasting to carnivore. I’ve tried it all before landing on the way of eating that works best for me.
As I tried and failed at different approaches, what I realised is that I don’t need anyone telling me what to eat or how to move. I know it already. But I do need a buddy, someone to be in my corner and help me with the struggle.
What makes me, me:
I have a lot of energy that I bring to every session. I will always show up for you 100% and believe you are capable of so much more than you know.
I say what I see. I’m not a flowery talker and I don’t take up your space. I want to give you the space and time you need to do the real work of self-discovery.
My favourite food in the world is steak, rare steak. If pushed I’d choose Pichana or Rib-eye. That’s a lie. I’d choose both. On the same plate! With a side of scallops!
I love dogs but have found myself the property of 2 cats. They rule and I basically do as I’m told.
I love change and trying new things. I view life as a series of changes and growth opportunities. I don’t think that just because we have been doing something for a long time, means we have to keep doing it.
And lastly, I adore bright colours. Loud, clashing colours give me energy, make me feel alive and draw me like a beacon. Neon is a neutral!
“Working with Gemma helped me to focus on my goals and make them achievable. I had time to really stop, focus and think. Gemma helped me to take the time to get clear on what I really want to achieve in life, and plan how I am going to get it.
I felt connected to Gemma and she really understood me as a person. I felt very comfortable talking to her. I think her coaching is a great way to maintain traction and focus on my life goals.”
